Source: Gay Politics Report

Pope Francis announced through the Vatican on Monday that he will replace Cardinal Raymond Burke, former archbishop of St. Louis, on an influential Vatican panel that evaluates bishop candidates. Burke, an outspoken critic of homosexual marriage and abortion, will be replaced by Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington, a relative moderate. Burke will retain his head position on the Apostolic Signatura, the Vatican’s high court. Talking Points Memo/The Associated Press (12/17)
